Tensions Rise in Kishtwar: Search Operation Intensifies After Army Jawan's Sacrifice

In the Saranwan area of Kishtwar district, Jammu and Kashmir, security forces have launched a search operation aimed at apprehending terrorists. This comes a day after the tragic loss of an Army jawan, Naib Subedar Rakesh Kumar, who was killed in action during an encounter.
On Sunday, as news of Kumar's sacrifice spread, the General Officer Commanding of the White Knight Corps, along with all ranks, took to X to honor the fallen soldier, hailing from 2 Para (SF). The post paid tribute to his involvement in the counter-insurgency operation in the Bhart Ridge area of Kishtwar district on November 9, 2024. Jammu and Kashmir police reported that the gunfight occurred in the Keshwan area, where three to four terrorists are believed to be trapped.
Meanwhile, tributes continue to pour in from across the nation. Former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh expressed heartfelt condolences to Kumar's family on X, saluting his bravery and praying for the recovery of three injured soldiers. His post reflected a nation's gratitude, asserting that Kumar's sacrifice will not be forgotten.
