In a significant move to tackle the worsening air quality in the national capital, Union Power Minister Manohar Lal Khattar inaugurated an 'EV Rally' under the Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL) initiative 'EV as a Service' on Sunday. The event is part of a series of efforts to curtail pollution levels in Delhi.
During the event, Minister Khattar remarked that the rally is aimed at fulfilling a pressing need for Delhi by introducing sustainable transportation solutions. He emphasized the program's initial focus on converting government vehicles to electric variants as a step towards reducing pollution.
The minister also participated in various activities including cycling and tractor-riding, highlighting the multifaceted approach required to mitigate pollution. Khattar pointed to industrial activities and transportation as major contributors to carbon emissions, reaffirming the government's pledge to foster eco-friendly initiatives.
