Ukrainian Resistance: Holding Back Russia’s Most Powerful Offensive

Ukraine's forces are successfully holding back one of Russia's strongest offensives since the onset of Moscow's full-scale invasion, as reported by the top commander of Kyiv's forces. September witnessed Russian troops advancing rapidly for the first time since March 2022, following President Putin's invasion orders. Ukraine secured parts of Russia's Kursk region in August.

General Oleksandr Syrskyi communicated through the Telegram app that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been able to contain a significant Russian offensive aimed at a full-scale invasion. Despite failing to capture Kyiv and win decisively, President Putin scaled back his objectives, targeting the Donbas region in eastern Ukraine.

Donbas has emerged as the central battlefield with massive military casualties on both sides. As of late October, Russia has captured significant Ukrainian territory, intensifying the conflict's danger. Meanwhile, Ukraine prepares for a harsh winter after Russian airstrikes have severely hit its power infrastructure.
