Tejasvi Surya, a Member of Parliament from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has leveled serious allegations against the Waqf Board and the Karnataka state government, accusing them of colluding to encroach upon thousands of acres of farmers' lands. In his statement to ANI, Surya pointed out the alarming situation that has unfolded, with implications involving multiple press conferences and public videos where the Minister seemingly admitted to these Waqf adalats taking place under the Chief Minister's directions.

Surya further revealed that numerous farmers from different districts across Karnataka have recently reported their lands being abruptly transferred to the Waqf Board without any prior notification or legal adherence. The farmers claim that land records, RTCs, mutation registers, and other essential documents have undergone unauthorized changes, leading to significant panic among the state's agricultural community.

Highlighting his proactive stance, Surya explained his communication with the Chairperson of the Joint Parliamentary Committee tasked with examining amendments to the Waqf Act. He has formally addressed these concerns in a written letter, accompanied by a direct appeal to the Chairperson to visit Karnataka. Such a visit would enable a thorough assessment of the issue's scope and magnitude, facilitating the proposal of effective legislative amendments to prevent the alleged misuse of the current law.
