On National Unity Day, the Director General of Police (DGP) of Uttarakhand, Abhinav Kumar, led the unity oath ceremony at the Police Headquarters in Dehradun. Addressing officers and staff, DGP Kumar emphasized his commitment to the country's unity, security, and integrity, inspired by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
National Unity Day, celebrated on October 31, marks Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's birth anniversary. Known as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, since 2014, it features 'Run for Unity' events across India. Earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid respects to Patel at the Statue of Unity in Kevadia, Gujarat.
Following his tribute, PM Modi administered the Unity Oath and participated in the National Unity Day parade in Kevadia. Modi praised Patel's enduring legacy, highlighting his pivotal role in unifying India's princely states into a singular Republic following independence in 1947.
