During the National Unity Day celebrations, Prime Minister Narendra Modi underscored the spirit of unity and the inspiration drawn from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's legacy. Speaking at the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas program in Kevadia, Gujarat, Modi emphasized that India has witnessed 'unprecedented achievements for national unity' over the past decade, and this spirit is evident in every governmental initiative and mission.

The Prime Minister referred to the significance of October 31, Sardar Patel's birth anniversary, comparing its significance to other national holidays like August 15 and January 26. Modi highlighted his government's commitment to initiatives like One Nation One Poll and One Nation One Civil Code, portraying them as mechanisms to strengthen democracy, optimize resources, and reinforce a united India. He also pointed out the importance of the New Education Policy in promoting unity through linguistic diversity.

PM Modi paid tribute to Sardar Patel at the Statue of Unity and announced a two-year celebration for his 150th birth anniversary. He credited Patel with a visionary realism that unified India and highlighted the abrogation of Article 370 as a significant tribute to Patel's dreams of a unified nation. The day's events included a parade with various contingents and performances, underscoring national pride and unity.
