PM Modi Unveils Major Development Projects in Kevadia, Boosts Tourism and Sustainability

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated several critical development projects in Kevadia, unveiling initiatives worth over Rs 284 crore. These developments aim to enrich the tourist experience, improve access, and promote sustainable practices in the region. New tourism attractions and facilities were launched to elevate the global profile of the Statue of Unity area, ensuring world-class amenities for visitors at Ekta Nagar.
The Statue of Unity, a renowned international tourist destination, saw a variety of projects inaugurated to enhance its appeal. The newly opened attractions include a bonsai garden, a sewage treatment plant, and the Sardar Sarovar Dam Experience Centre. A 50-bed sub-district hospital was also launched, providing upgraded healthcare and public services, with the hospital costing Rs 22 crore. It features advanced medical facilities such as a trauma centre, CT scan, and ICU.
Significant improvements to Ekta Nagar's infrastructure were showcased with the new ICU-on-wheels service and enhanced traffic management systems. Beautification efforts included the construction of smart bus stops and pick-up stands. Additionally, a sculpture symposium led to the installation of 24 new sculptures throughout the town, adding to its cultural and aesthetic appeal. As part of Ekta Nagar's sustainability efforts, PM Modi inaugurated a solar power project, reinforcing green initiatives.
In response to earlier flood damage, fortifications near the Cactus Garden will be expanded to ensure tourist safety. In Garudeshwar, land elevation is underway for a hospitality redevelopment project worth Rs 60 crore aimed at mitigating flood risks. These ventures set Ekta Nagar to become a model for tourism, sustainable development, and infrastructure.
The Prime Minister's visit also included a review of project displays showcasing the comprehensive development strategies for Ekta Nagar. Through these efforts, the town is poised to become a beacon of robust infrastructure and eco-friendly policies, promoting an inviting atmosphere for visitors.
