Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao expressed confidence on Wednesday that Priyanka Gandhi Vadra would secure a resounding victory in the Wayanad Lok Sabha bypoll. Speaking to ANI, he asserted that her triumph would enable her to challenge the Modi government, which he claims prioritizes the corporate sector over public interests.

Rao emphasized that Gandhi would spotlight concerns impacting backward classes and minority communities in Parliament. He criticized the NDA government for failing to deliver on its promises and suggested it neglects the common people. Priyanka Gandhi, he stated, would champion the struggles faced by the disadvantaged.

In Wayanad, a traditional Congress stronghold, Priyanka Gandhi faces competition from BJP's Navya Haridas and the Left's Sathyan Mokeri in the upcoming bypolls. Gandhi, part of the United Democratic Front, is campaigning vigorously, having already held a roadshow in Wayanad, which forms part of her intensive election campaign.

During a public address, Priyanka Gandhi lauded the residents of Wayanad for their unwavering support of her brother Rahul Gandhi amid adversities. She noted that Wayanad recognized his commitment to social causes before the rest of the nation. She assured constituents of her dedication to addressing the local populace's issues if elected.

The Wayanad seat was vacated by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi after he secured a position in the Lok Sabha representing Raebareli. Priyanka Gandhi is pursuing election in the upcoming bypolls scheduled for November 13, aligned with bye-elections in 47 assembly seats across 15 states and the first phase of Jharkhand assembly polls.
