On Wednesday, the Uttar Pradesh police effectively dismantled a gang operating an illicit arms trade via social media. Seven individuals, including two buyers from Muzaffarnagar, were apprehended. The arrested include Azam Rizwi, Vivek Nagar, Pratik Tyagi, Manish Kumar, Rishab Prajapati, Vishal, and Pratik, according to police authorities.

Authorities recovered one pistol, three guns, and two cartridges from the suspects. Satya Narayan Prajapati, the SP City of Muzaffarnagar, revealed that police acted on a tip-off regarding an imminent pistol delivery. A police team was dispatched, leading to the arrest of both the buyer and the sellers at the scene. Vishal and Pratik were identified as the prospective buyers, while five individuals, including Rizwi, Nagar, Tyagi, Kumar, and Prajapati, comprised the delivery party.

The gang reportedly negotiated deals through social media, accepting payments in cash or via bank transfers. Further investigations are ongoing, as police seek to uncover the full scope of this illicit operation. More information is anticipated as the probe progresses.
