In a sharp critique against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Shiv Sena (UBT) figurehead Aaditya Thackeray accused the ruling party of systematically redirecting pivotal projects from Maharashtra to Gujarat. The Airbus TATA project and several others, originally slated for Maharashtra, have been commandeered by Gujarat, Thackeray claimed on Tuesday.
Thackeray articulated his concern about the BJP's impact on Mumbai and accused Chief Minister Eknath Shinde of neglecting local employment. 'This transfer has tarnished Maharashtrian prospects,' he stated, listing projects like Vedanta Foxconn and solar energy equipment parks as victims of this diversion. Thackeray argued that the double-engine governance framework had failed the state.
He lamented that substantial investments made in Maharashtra during Uddhav Thackeray's tenure appear to have vanished under BJP's administration. The leader highlighted the cuts in bus services amid cultural festivities in Mumbai, accusing the Shinde government of negligence, as he prepares to contest the Maharashtra assembly elections from Worli against Shiv Sena's (Shinde) Milind Deora.
