In a significant boost to tourism, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu inaugurated a range of water sports activities at Gobind Sagar Lake in Bilaspur. The newly launched activities, which include cruises, shikara rides, and jet skiing, aim to put the region on the tourism map, according to an official statement.
Chief Minister Sukhu emphasized that these initiatives hold immense potential for job creation and local business opportunities, particularly benefiting women and small entrepreneurs. He stated that tourism, along with religious and eco-tourism, would elevate Bilaspur to compete with India's top travel destinations like Kerala and Goa.
Sukhu unveiled plans for a scenic 30-kilometer cruise route from Bilaspur to Shimla, further emphasizing his commitment to enhancing tourism infrastructure.
