In a heated press conference on Tuesday, Congress leader Pawan Khera launched a fierce attack on the NDA government, accusing it of safeguarding SEBI Chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch against accountability, amid growing allegations against her.
Rahul Gandhi intensified the pressure by uploading a video accusing the government of shielding Buch, questioning its motives, and suggesting potential blackmail. Gandhi's remarks follow Buch's notable absence from a parliamentary Public Accounts Committee (PAC) meeting, fueling further controversy.
The Public Accounts Committee meeting was postponed due to a stir caused by Buch's non-appearance, with K C Venugopal, head of the PAC, revealing Buch cited personal reasons for her inability to attend. Previously, Buch had dismissed allegations against her as legally dubious and malicious.
