Union Power Minister Manohar Lal has urged the Andaman and Nicobar Islands administration to amplify their energy generation using renewable sources and reduce reliance on diesel.

In a meeting held in Sri Vijaya Puram to evaluate the power sector, Lal highlighted the importance of wind energy and energy storage in lowering energy costs. He encouraged exploring alternative fuels, like ethanol-based fuels.

He also stressed the need for timely settlements of government dues and recommended reforms under the revamped distribution sector scheme to improve transmission efficiency.
