Prime Minister Narendra Modi will spearhead a major development initiative in Gujarat by inaugurating and laying foundation stones for projects accumulating over Rs 4800 crore. These projects span diverse sectors, enhancing water supply, road infrastructure, and tourism in various districts such as Amreli, Jamnagar, and Kutch, according to an official release.
In the water supply domain, projects worth Rs 705 crore will be launched, including the Bharatmata Sarovar in Amreli, designed to improve water availability through strategic reservoir management. Additional projects focus on pit and bore recharge mechanisms and an extensive bulk water pipeline serving numerous villages and towns.
Infrastructure development is front and center with the National Highway Authority of India projects worth over Rs 2800 crore, involving major road widening initiatives. The railway sector will also receive a significant boost with the Bhuj-Naliya gauge conversion project valued at Rs 1094 crore, set to enhance connectivity and economic prospects in the Kutch region.
