Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has officially approved Yasir Ahmed Khan Pathan as the party's candidate for the Shiggaon Constituency in the upcoming Karnataka Legislative Assembly bypolls.
Bharat Bommai, son of former Karnataka Chief Minister and BJP MP Basavaraj Bommai, has filed his nomination for Shiggaon on behalf of the BJP. Meanwhile, Congress has announced CP Yogeshwara for Channapatna, and E Annapurna for Sandur.
The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has selected Nikhil Kumaraswamy, son of Union Minister and JD(S) State Chief HD Kumaraswamy, as its candidate for the Channapatna bypoll. The by-elections are slated for November 13, with the results to be declared on November 23.
