Telangana is set to achieve its highest-ever paddy production, with estimates reaching 150 lakh metric tonnes, according to state Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy.
During a meeting in Suryapet with Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma and district officials, Reddy announced that the state has allocated Rs 20,000 crore for paddy procurement this season, amid further support plans if needed.
The minister highlighted the expansion of irrigation projects to bring six lakh acres under cultivation annually, aiming for a total of 30 lakh acres in five years, underscoring the state's dedication to supporting agriculture and fair pricing for farmers.
