Addressing the sensitive issue of Jammu and Kashmir's statehood, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Ravinder Raina emphasized the necessity for joint discussions between the union territory's elected government and the central administration. Raina stressed that the security of the region's citizens is of paramount importance and must not be compromised.
Raina commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for their efforts in stabilizing the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, urging against hastily made policy decisions. Highlighting the significance of peace, Raina stated that development depends on the region's tranquility and prosperity, free from the threat of terrorism and extremism.
The remarks came soon after Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah met Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi following a significant terror attack in Ganderbal district.
