In a significant crackdown, joint operations by the Indian Army in collaboration with Assam Rifles and Manipur Police have led to the seizure of a substantial cache of weapons and war-like stores across several districts in Manipur. The operations, targeting Churachandpur, Chandel, and Thoubal, marked a strategic effort to maintain peace in the region.
On October 22, the forces launched an intelligence-driven operation in the Thoroilok area of Churachandpur district. This operation, executed with the support of CRPF, resulted in the recovery of two country-made mortars, a pistol, grenades, explosives, and other stores that pose a potential threat to regional security.
Further operations by Assam Rifles and Manipur Police on the same day in Lamzang village brought in a .303 rifle, a single-barrel rifle, and additional ammunition. Similar efforts in Chandel and Thoubal districts also led to the discovery of automatic weapons and explosives, underscoring the persistent efforts by security forces to dismantle threats and bolster safety in Manipur.
