In an unexpected turn of events, tensions flared at a Joint Parliamentary Committee meeting discussing the Waqf (Amendment) Bill 2024, as a dispute between TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee and BJP MP Abhijit Gangopadhyay turned explosive. Reports indicate Banerjee allegedly shattered a glass bottle during the heated argument, leading to a chaotic atmosphere.
Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam's Deputy General Secretary, A Raja, expressed disapproval, describing the event as unpleasant. He criticized the disclosure of meeting details, stressing that proceedings are confidential. Through social media, Raja voiced concerns about the chairman's management of the meeting, suggesting doubts about ensuring justice due to the fast-paced conduct.
