Union Home Minister Amit Shah paid homage to martyrs on Police Commemoration Day at the National Police Memorial, emphasizing the sacrifices made to protect India's internal security and borders. Addressing the gathering, Shah honored the bravery of soldiers safeguarding Indian territories from Kashmir to Kanyakumari.
Director of the Intelligence Bureau, Tapan Kumar Deka, joined in paying tribute at the memorial, held in honor of officers who laid down their lives for their country. On this occasion, Deka noted the historic significance of October 21, marking the day when ten CRPF jawans were martyred in 1959.
Observing Police Commemoration Day annually, October 21 sees tributes across the nation, with the primary ceremony in New Delhi. A joint parade of Central Armed Police Forces and Delhi Police underscores the importance of police sacrifices since independence, further solidified by the National Police Memorial, a tribute to their valor.
