Leaders Condemn Attack on Civilians in Jammu & Kashmir

Political leaders in India denounce a terror attack in Gagangir, Jammu & Kashmir, calling it a cowardly act of terrorism sponsored by Pakistan. The attack left two laborers dead and several injured. Authorities stress the need for vigilance and promise swift action against the perpetrators.

In the wake of a terror attack on civilians in Gagangir, Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir, former Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Kavinder Gupta has denounced the incident as a cowardly act of Pakistan-sponsored terrorism. 'This is a cowardly form of Pakistan's sponsored terrorism. People from other states come here to earn a livelihood. Firing on them is a very shameful act,' he said. Gupta emphasized that the attacks aimed to disrupt the positive atmosphere following recent elections and reignite terrorism in the region. He praised security forces for their efforts and called for a strategic response.

Congress leader Ravinder Sharma also condemned the incident, stating, 'This is a very unfortunate incident. Doctors and innocent people were attacked.' He urged the Jammu and Kashmir government to take decisive action and ensure these incidents do not recur. Sharma expressed hope for the swift recovery of the injured and reaffirmed confidence in the security forces' ability to retaliate appropriately.

Two laborers were killed in the terror attack in Gagangir on Sunday evening. Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah condemned the attack, describing it as 'dastardly and cowardly' and extended condolences to the victims' families. He highlighted that the victims were non-local laborers working on a significant infrastructure project in the Sonamarg region. Officials stress increased vigilance as they work to bring perpetrators to justice.
