MQM supremo Altaf Hussain has issued a fervent denunciation of the ongoing oppression in Balochistan, urging the resignation of Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and regional leaders. Hussain accused them of failing to uphold the rights of Baloch citizens and highlighted the violence inflicted on innocent civilians.
The unrest escalated after security forces used excessive force against peaceful protesters in Quetta, tragically leading to deaths and injuries, with children among the victims. A prominent activist, Mahrang Baloch, was arrested in a manner described as humiliating, further inflaming tensions. Hussain criticized Shehbaz Sharif and Maryam Safdar for their Saudi visit amid these human rights violations.
Altaf Hussain underscored the historical oppression faced by Balochistan over 77 years, warning of potential resentment among youth. He condemned the timing of intensified state violence and urged Punjab's populace and media to resist misinformation. Solidarity was expressed with Baloch victims, calling for dialogue and immediate release of detained activists.
