In a unique turn of events, BJP corporator Tahseen Shahid's son, Mohammad Abbas Haider, got married to Pakistan-based Andleep Zahra through a virtual ceremony. Now, Shahid is seeking a visa to bring his daughter-in-law to India.
The online wedding took place on October 18 due to Shahid and his relatives not obtaining visas to travel to Pakistan. Additionally, the bride's mother, Rana Yasmin Zaidi, was unwell, further necessitating the virtual nuptials.
Shahid aspires to personally meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar to request visa facilitation, hopeful for a positive response from the authorities.
