PM Modi's Transformative Visit to Varanasi: New Inaugurations and Future Prospects

Varanasi is on high alert with heightened security as Prime Minister Narendra Modi prepares for an important visit on Sunday. His agenda includes laying the foundation for extensive development projects valued at approximately Rs 6,100 crore. Locals, including Swapna Vishwakarma, express palpable excitement surrounding the visit, particularly for the inauguration of the Varanasi Sports Complex. This facility is seen as a monumental step in fulfilling the aspirations of the city's youth.

Swapna communicated her hopes to ANI, saying, "The PM's visit has the whole city buzzing with excitement. His focus on the sports complex is an inspiring move, paving the way for our children to progress towards the Olympics." Meanwhile, Rajnish, a local resident, highlighted Modi's steadfast focus on Varanasi's progress, noting the potential boost for local athletes. Rajnish stated, "Today's initiatives will propel athletes to new achievements, and we're grateful for the PM's dedication to our city."

The Divisional Commissioner of Varanasi, Kaushal Raj Sharma, conveyed that Modi is set to lay the foundation stones for 23 projects, aligning with his vision to create world-class sports facilities. This includes inaugurating further phases of the Varanasi Sports Complex redevelopment, with investments exceeding Rs 210 crore. These advancements tie into the 'Khelo India' scheme and Smart City Mission, aiming to provide top-tier amenities such as a National Centre of Excellence, players' hostels, and various sports infrastructure.

Modi's itinerary extends to launching critical airport projects worth over Rs 6,100 crore, including the RJ Sankara Eye Hospital at 2 pm, which will provide extensive eye care services. Further, he will establish the foundation for new civil enclaves at several airports, indicating a significant leap in aviation capabilities. The airport endeavors, inspired by regional heritage, enhance overall passenger handling capacity to over 23 million annually.
