An intense encounter between security forces and terrorists is currently unfolding along the Line of Control (LOC) in the Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir, according to an official statement from the Indian Army on Sunday. The army's Chinar Corps announced via social media platform X that a coordinated anti-infiltration initiative was launched in the region.

The operation, based on credible intelligence about a potential infiltration attempt, involved the Indian Army and Jammu Kashmir Police. Alert troops identified suspicious activity and engaged when terrorists responded with indiscriminate firing. The forces returned fire effectively, and the operation continues with the aim of neutralizing the threat.

In related developments, Jammu and Kashmir Police apprehended two terrorists in Poonch district, fulfilling a significant milestone in resolving multiple grenade attack cases. These arrests revealed involvement in activities such as grenade attacks on religious sites and public buildings, with intentions to disrupt communal harmony. On Friday, security forces detained another suspect in the Surankote Sector, with the recovery of four grenades, marking a notable development in combating regional terrorism. Meanwhile, a migrant laborer from Bihar, Ashok Chauhan, was found dead with bullet wounds in Shopian district.
