Delhi's Patiala House Court has taken significant action by issuing a Non-Bailable Warrant (NBW) against Virender Singh Baisoya Biru, identified as the mastermind behind a colossal Rs 5000 crore drug syndicate. This move follows a petition submitted by the Investigation Officer, leading to the subsequent arrest efforts by the Delhi police special cell.
Presided over by Special Judge (NDPS) Sudhir Kumar Sirohi, the court hearing highlighted submissions by the state's prosecution team and the Investigation Officer, Ravindra Kumar, emphasizing Baisoya's critical role in the syndicate. It was indicated that Baisoya supplied a vehicle to co-accused Jatinder Singh Gill, alias Jassi, facilitating the transportation of contraband from Amritsar.
Despite multiple attempts, Baisoya remains elusive, prompting law enforcement to affix notices at his residence. Furthermore, judicial custody has been extended for five additional accused individuals. This case has unveiled a massive operation, with over 1289 kilograms of high-value drugs seized, marking a significant breakthrough in the war against narcotics in India.
