In an event marked by the significance of global standards, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami underscored the crucial role of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) in the nation's stride towards self-reliance. Attending the World Standards Day program in Dehradun, Dhami highlighted BIS's potential in ensuring Indian products meet international benchmarks.

Themed 'Shared Vision for a Better World: Standards for the Changing Climate', this year's World Standards Day highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts in combating climate challenges. Dhami expressed that BIS's initiatives align with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a developed India, with a strong focus on quality and environmental responsibility.

Celebrated annually, World Standards Day by BIS acknowledges the efforts of experts worldwide in standardization. The statutory body operates under India's Ministry of Consumer Affairs, aiming at consumer protection through various schemes such as product certification, hallmarking, and laboratory services. BIS contributes significantly to the economy by ensuring product quality, consumer safety, and environmental protection, further reinforcing public policy objectives.
