VVS Laxman, the chief of the BCCI Centre of Excellence, has admitted his initial apprehension upon taking the role, but now feels content after establishing a strong bench strength aimed at maintaining India's cricket dominance for the next decade.
Laxman, who took the helm from Rahul Dravid at the National Cricket Academy in 2021, built on the solid foundation already laid out, ensuring a steady 'supply chain' of talent for both men's and women's cricket.
'We have a lot of players who will make our country proud,' Laxman stated confidently. He emphasized the importance of grooming these players without altering their natural game, a strategy supported by strong collaboration with state associations and a comprehensive athlete management system.
