In a sharp critique against Kerala legislators, BJP National Secretary Anil K Antony condemned both Congress and the ruling Left Democratic Front for their stance against the Centre's 'One Nation, One Election' proposal. He labeled the resolution, which was passed in the state assembly, as both 'anti-national' and 'anti-people.'

Antony accused the Congress and Left of forming an 'opportunistic alliance' on a national scale while putting on a facade of opposition in Kerala. He suggested that their unified opposition to proposals of public interest reveals a 'mock fight' meant to mislead the state's populace. He stressed that their actions are detrimental and suggest a disregard for historical context.

The Kerala Legislative Assembly unanimously passed the resolution contesting the central initiative for simultaneous Lok Sabha, state, and local elections, a push said to undermine India's democratic structure. The Assembly contends such reforms could centralize power and diminish state and local autonomy, consequently violating citizens' democratic rights.
