On Thursday, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the Passenger Terminal Building at Sahastradhara Heliport, marking a significant step in enhancing air connectivity across the state. The event also saw the launch of a new helicopter service linking Dehradun and Almora under the Chief Minister Udan Khatola Yojana.

During the inauguration, CM Dhami emphasized the state's long-standing commitment to improving air travel options, noting the expansion of Sahastradhara helipad in Dehradun and the operation of services covering Chinyalisaur, Gauchar, Munsyari, Srinagar, Haldwani, and Pithoragarh. This new service is expected to bolster tourism and economic growth, benefiting local communities, including artisans producing local goods.

Highlighting Almora's historical significance, CM Dhami pointed out that the service provides easier access to sites like Jageshwar Dham and Nanda Devi Temple. The helicopter service is a part of a broader strategy backed by PM Modi to modernize and localize air services nationwide. With state-of-the-art facilities and an investment of Rs 2482.96 lakh, the new terminal is designed for efficient passenger handling, set to offer affordable travel to the people of Uttarakhand.
