Nationalist Congress Party (NCP-SP) Chief Sharad Pawar and his daughter, MP Supriya Sule, made a significant visit to Bopdev Ghat near Pune, where a shocking incident of gang rape occurred on October 3. The pair sought updates from Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) S Raja regarding the progress of the investigation.

Sule voiced concerns about the lack of arrests despite the investigation being conducted by both Pune Police and rural law enforcement, labeling it a 'serious matter.' She suggested that the absence of visible police presence emboldens criminals and criticized the state government for its insufficient recruitment of officers.

The police have mobilized over 60 teams and announced a Rs 10 lakh reward to find the suspects, questioning more than 200 known criminals without yet identifying the perpetrators. Earlier, Sule joined an opposition protest addressing women's safety and the rising crime rate, questioning the state's law and order efficacy.
