Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd has witnessed a remarkable 70% improvement in electricity supply reliability over the past five years, aided by its implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM) practices, according to a company statement on Tuesday.

In addition to the reliability gains, TQM has significantly reduced the aggregate technical and commercial (AT&C) losses from 53% during privatisation in July 2002 to 5.9% by March 2024, enhancing operational efficiency and minimizing outages. This success has placed Tata Power-DDL among the elite of the power distribution industry worldwide, as noted by CEO Gajanan S Kale.

Significantly, the focus on quality and customer satisfaction prompted recognition from the 'Deming Prize', celebrating Tata Power-DDL's initiatives and commitment to continuous improvement. The company supplies electricity to 7 million residents in North Delhi as a subsidiary of Tata Power.
