Congress MP Deepender Singh Hooda has aligned himself with MP Kumari Selja's assertion that the selection of the Chief Ministerial candidate lies with the Congress high command. "This is the established procedure within the Congress," Hooda emphasized, adding that the party's primary focus should first be on forming a government.

Projecting confidence ahead of the Haryana elections, Hooda highlighted mounting public dissatisfaction with the ruling BJP, suggesting it could benefit Congress. "The environment is shifting in Congress's favor," said Hooda, predicting significant advantages from Ashok Tanwar's return to the party. He argued that the discontent following BJP's decade-long rule is creating a "wave of support" for Congress.

Meanwhile, former Congress leader Ashok Tanwar, who recently rejoined, reinforced party unity. "Meeting with Mallikarjun Kharge symbolized returning to our roots," Tanwar stated, reaffirming his commitment to strengthening Congress's position. Both leaders anticipate Congress crossing the 75-seat mark in the Haryana assembly polls, driven by a perceived resurgence of public support.
