In an extraordinary fusion of art and eco-consciousness, Pradip Kumar Ghosh, an artist from Dhubri, Assam, is unveiling a unique Durga idol crafted from over 8,000 discarded plastic bottle caps for this year's Navratri festival. Standing at five feet, the idol is not just a symbol of beauty but a statement of sustainability.

Renowned for his eco-friendly creations using materials like sugarcane waste and cycle tubes, Ghosh's latest work is set to be a focal point at the Charmain Road's Durga Puja Pandal. The artist emphasized that this creation addresses grave issues like plastic pollution. 'Art must convey meaningful messages,' Ghosh stated, receiving acclaim for his sustainability efforts.

This year's Durga idol is expected to ignite discussions about environmental responsibility. In conversation with ANI, Ghosh remarked, 'Through my art, I aim to send a clear message about climate issues. As a school teacher and artist, I use plastic waste to craft Durga idols, highlighting the role of art in reducing pollution.'
