Ministry Reports Significant Growth in Coal Production and Dispatch for FY 2024-25

The Ministry of Coal has announced a remarkable increase in coal production and dispatch from both captive and commercial coal blocks during the first half of the fiscal year 2024-25, spanning from April 1, 2024, to September 30, 2024. This growth marks a substantial improvement compared to the same period last year.

Production Increase: Coal production surged by 32% year-over-year, rising from 60.52 million tonnes (MT) in the first half of FY24 to 79.72 MT in FY25.

Dispatch Growth: Dispatch levels also saw a significant rise of 34%, climbing from 65.37 MT in H1 FY24 to 87.86 MT in H1 FY25.

In September alone, coal production increased by 32%, from 10.40 MT in FY24 to 13.74 MT in FY25. Furthermore, dispatch in September experienced a substantial growth of 47%, rising from 9.68 MT in FY24 to 14.27 MT in FY25.

The Ministry of Coal commended the unwavering efforts of all stakeholders, including coal companies and industry partners, for their invaluable support in achieving these significant milestones.
