The Chardham Yatra has resumed with renewed enthusiasm as pilgrims embark on their spiritual journey following the monsoon season. The government has ramped up security measures and implemented better travel management to ensure a smooth experience for the devotees.
On September 30, a total of 20,497 pilgrims reached Char Dham for Darshan. Kedarnath Dham attracted the highest number of visitors, with 7,350 pilgrims. The entire Yatra period has seen about 38 lakh devotees so far. The swift and efficient response by the government to the Kedar Ghati disaster has reinforced pilgrims' faith in the administration. Pilgrims are eager to visit Baba Kedar with high spirits.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has placed the safety of Chardham pilgrims as his top priority. The state's effective travel arrangements reflect his commitment to this goal. The government's handling of the July 31 Kedarghati disaster, including the rapid evacuation of 18,000 stranded individuals, has been widely praised. The Yatra has been successfully restarted, with a surge in registrations for October and November.
