In a significant development, the remains of four soldiers from the 1968 AN-12 aircraft crash in the Lahaul valley have been recovered. The post-mortem will be conducted in Losar before the bodies are handed over to their families, according to Superintendent of Police for Lahaul-Spiti, Mayank Choudhary.

The soldiers identified include Malkhan Singh from Saharanpur, Sipahi Narain Singh from Pauri Garhwal, Sipahi Munshi Ram from Rewari, Haryana, and Thomas Cherian from Kerala. The Indian Army has been making relentless efforts to recover bodies since the crash occurred.

Additional search operations will continue in the challenging terrain of CB-13 near Batal. Despite initial discoveries in 2018, many remains and debris are still missing. The team hopes the latest discovery will lead to finding more missing personnel.
