Hygenco Invites Bids for Largest Green Energy Procurement in India
Hygenco Green Energies has initiated India's largest tender for procuring over 1.1 GW of renewable energy to support its Green Ammonia Project. This initiative reinforces Hygenco's dedication to sustainability and aligns with India's Green Hydrogen Mission, aiming to make India a Green Hydrogen Hub by 2030.
Hygenco Green Energies Pvt Ltd, a leading producer of low-cost green hydrogen, has announced a significant tender for over 1.1 Gigawatt (GW) of renewable energy to aid its Green Ammonia Project. This marks the largest tender in India for renewable energy procurement for such a project, underscoring Hygenco's steadfast dedication to sustainability.
The company plans to procure 625 MW from Solar PV projects and 500 MW from wind power. The tender terms are designed to minimize risk for developers and promote a transparent procurement process, drawing a wide range of participants within the renewable energy sector.
Co-Founder and CEO of Hygenco, Amit Bansal, highlighted the firm's progress and ambition in scaling up India's Green Hydrogen and Green Ammonia markets, affirming the company's role in facilitating the nation's energy security and climate objectives. Green ammonia, powered by renewable energy, is expected to be a pivotal element in the global energy transition, with the market projected to reach $17.9 billion by 2030.
