Karnataka faces political tension after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) booked Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in a money laundering case tied to the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) land allotment scandal. In a surprising move, his wife Parvathi has written to MUDA offering to surrender 14 plots allotted to her as compensation.
Parvathi's letter, addressed to the MUDA Commissioner, detailed the allocation of plots in Vijayanagar Phase 3 and 4 for land used by the authority. Expressing her distress over the allegations, she mentioned that the decision to return the plots was made to protect her husband's honor and integrity.
Political parties, particularly the BJP, have seized the moment to criticize the Congress, demanding Siddaramaiah's resignation. Defending himself, Siddaramaiah dismissed these calls, instead calling for accountability within the BJP over various scandals. This controversy continues to unravel with increasing political and public scrutiny.
