Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) Working President K T Rama Rao on Monday sharply criticized the Musi River Rejuvenation Project, suggesting that around 1 lakh people would be rendered homeless. KTR labeled the project's demolition plans as a means for CM Revanth Reddy to earn money.

"Today in Hyderabad, an atmosphere has set in near Musi river. Around 1 lakh people are about to be homeless. A team of senior BRS leaders is here in Hyderguda to understand their pain. We will then go to Kishanguda as well. We will go to Kishan Bagh too. We would like to ask one thing to the Revanth Reddy government. You had said that you would implement 6 guarantees within 100 days. What happened to it?" said KTR. "We would want to warn the Revanth Reddy government that you can do whatever you want. But BRS stands with the poor and the helpless. We will face your bulldozers; we will not let your plan to render people homeless go through. You will have to withdraw this proposal," he added.

KTR further attacked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his stance against 'bulldozer raj,' questioning if his policy differs between Haryana & UP and Telangana. "Come to Hyderabad, to the Musi River, and tell people about the conduct of Revanth Reddy," KTR demanded. Earlier in the day, KTR termed the Musi River beautification project a 'scam.' He pointed out that despite unfulfilled promises, the government has allocated 1.50 lakh crores to the Musi project while only 40,000 crores were spent on the Ganga over a much larger stretch.

CM Revanth Reddy, on the other hand, announced development plans for historic buildings along the Musi River to turn them into tourism hotspots. The state government is committed to promoting tourism along with making Telangana a welfare state, he stated. The State Tourism Department has signed an agreement with CII for the restoration of several ancient Stepwells in Hyderabad. CM Reddy blamed the previous government for neglecting many historical buildings now in a dilapidated condition.
