Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has been admitted to Fortis Hospital in Mohali for a routine medical checkup, according to an official statement from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday. The statement revealed that various tests are being conducted to assess the chief minister's health condition.

Doctors stated that Mann is in good health, although they observed signs of inflammation in an artery of his lungs, which has been creating pressure on his heart and causing fluctuations in blood pressure. Further tests are pending, and Mann will remain under medical supervision overnight. A decision on his discharge will be made after the results are evaluated.

Meanwhile, Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia criticized the AAP and Mann, claiming that the hospitalization is not merely a routine checkup but a consequence of liver damage due to excessive drinking. Majithia called for transparency, stressing that routine checkups do not typically take 24 hours, and demanded that the authorities share the truth with the public.
