Per the FIR, a student and his group were en route to file a nomination for the DUSU election when they faced opposition from another group. The argument quickly escalated into a physical fight, during which a student's turban was dislodged. Allegations surfaced that he was also beaten.
Video footage shows students clashing outside the principal's office, with a student in a red turban assaulted by several others. An FIR has been lodged under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita. The college principal had stated that the institution would conduct its own elections, leading to protests from various student organizations.
