Union Minister of Food and Processing Industries Chirag Paswan addressed the closing ceremony of the Global Food Regulators Summit at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi. Hosted by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), the two-day event brought together international food safety regulators to discuss collaborative efforts and knowledge-sharing on food safety and regulatory concerns.

In his speech, Minister Paswan emphasized the dual responsibility of ensuring both food safety and security. He lauded FSSAI for organizing the summit and highlighted the diverse food systems of India as a unique strength that needs to be transformed into meaningful opportunities.

VK Paul from NITI Aayog praised the Eat Right India movement, urging everyone to join the initiative to promote healthier eating habits. Anupriya Patel, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, delivered the Presidential Address at a parallel Regional Conclave, stressing the importance of unity and collaboration among countries to shape global food safety standards.

FSSAI CEO G Kamala Vardhana Rao provided an overview of the summit's discussions, expressing gratitude for the contributions from delegates representing over 70 countries. The summit underscored India's leadership in global food safety initiatives, addressing key issues such as risk assessment, analytical competence, and capacity-building in the food safety ecosystem.
