Second Suspect Apprehended in Chandigarh Grenade Blast Case

Punjab Police have apprehended the second accused in the Chandigarh blast case, an official reported on Sunday. The suspect, Vishal Masih, was arrested from Delhi.

On September 11, a small pressure-type blast occurred in Chandigarh's Sector 10, damaging windows and flower pots in a residential area. The Director General of Punjab Police announced on X that within 72 hours of the incident, the police, in coordination with central agencies, had arrested the second perpetrator. The first suspect, Rohan Masih, was detained on September 13.

Further investigations revealed that Vishal Masih, son of Sabi Masih from Raimal village near Dhyanpur, Batala District, Gurdaspur, was involved. He was arrested based on leads from various sources. Authorities continue to investigate to uncover the full extent of the conspiracy.

Rohan Masih, the main accused, was arrested earlier in a joint operation with central agencies. A Glock 9mm pistol and ammunition were recovered from him. According to Chandigarh SSP Kanwardeep Kaur, a complainant reported seeing two individuals near the blast site, allegedly throwing a grenade. Teams are actively searching for any additional suspects, and the investigation into the cause of the blast is ongoing.
