BJP Leader Suvendu Adhikari, the Leader of the Opposition in the West Bengal Legislative Assembly, has accused the Kolkata police of tampering with evidence. His accusations follow the arrest of the Officer-in-Charge of Tala police station, Abhijit Mondal, by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

In a social media post, Adhikari claimed that Mondal's arrest confirmed police involvement in tampering with evidence related to the rape and murder case of a trainee doctor. He alleged that these actions were orchestrated and monitored by top officials to derail the investigation.

Adhikari called for the immediate resignation of Mamata Banerjee, stating she lacks moral authority to remain in office. He also demanded the suspension of Vineet Goyal, the Commissioner of Police, Kolkata. As the political tension rises, junior doctors continue their protests in Kolkata for the fifth consecutive night.
