Suspect Injured in Police Encounter in Agra's Kheragarh

In Agra's Kheragarh area, a person accused of attacking the police was injured in an encounter, authorities reported on Saturday. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) West Agra, Sonam Kumar, stated, "On September 14, police got information about an individual who fired at the police a few days back. During a check, the accused again fired at the police with lethal intent. Police responded with retaliatory fire, injuring the individual."

The injured suspect has been hospitalized for treatment, according to police. The accused who were involved in the shooting have been identified as Satyaprakash alias Sattu, Netrapal alias Nitu, and Vinod, as per DCP Kumar. Satyaprakash and Netrapal had a cash prize of Rs 25,000 on their heads. Their weapons have been confiscated, DCP Kumar added.

From the scene of the incident, police recovered three illegal pistols, six live cartridges, three empty cartridges, three misfired cartridges, and a motorcycle, DCP Kumar stated. Further investigation is currently underway.
