BSF and Punjab Police Seize Drone Laden with 6.2 Kg of Heroin in Tarn Taran

In a coordinated effort, the Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab Police intercepted a drone carrying a significant cache of heroin in Tarn Taran district on Thursday.
According to an official release, on September 12, technical countermeasures by BSF thwarted a drone intrusion at the Tarn Taran border. Following this, BSF and Punjab Police carried out a joint search operation in the area.
At 4:43 PM, troops discovered an assembled drone (quadcopter) with a packet of suspected heroin weighing 6.230 kg in a farming field near the Gilpan village. The narcotics, wrapped in yellow adhesive tape, included an improvised loop and two illuminating sticks. The drone is noted to be assembled. Just days earlier, on September 9, BSF recovered 1.180 kg of suspected heroin in the border area of Amritsar district.
