The Embassy of India, in collaboration with the Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF), organized an online seminar on Tuesday to raise awareness about Qatar's stringent rules on narcotics and restricted psychoactive drugs. The event saw participation from Indian community members, leaders, media professionals, and stakeholders from both Doha and India.

Hosted by ICBF with the support of the Indian Embassy, the seminar featured key addresses from Ambassador Vipul, First Secretary Eish Singhal, and ICBF President Shanavas Bava. Ambassador Vipul emphasized the importance of abiding by Qatar's regulations on importing restricted medicines and the prohibition of narcotic substances.

First Secretary Eish Singhal shared case studies illustrating the legal repercussions faced by Indians for carrying restricted items into Qatar. Some of those convicted reported unwittingly carrying prohibited substances handed to them by agents. President Shanavas Bava urged civil society groups in India to amplify awareness about Qatar's strict laws, highlighting the support provided by the Indian Embassy and ICBF, including legal counseling and financial aid for Indian prisoners.
