Challenges faced by women and youth in rural India were discussed at a national seminar held on Wednesday. The seminar, titled 'Women and Youth Empowerment in Rural India,' was organized by the African-Asian Rural Development Organization (AARDO) and ChakBal Group.
The agenda included critical reflections on the roles of education, skill development, technology, and policy in transforming the lives of rural women and youth. Rashmi Sinha, Co-Founder of VillageNama, highlighted the significance of technology in addressing employment issues, citing schemes like 'Namo Drone Didi' as crucial interventions.
'Drone Didi' Shabina Khatoon shared her experience with drone technology for agricultural purposes, becoming a community role model. Meanwhile, 'Lakhpati Didi' scheme beneficiary Sheela Yadav spoke about her journey to financial independence through skill development and self-help groups. The seminar underscored the need for targeted interventions to empower rural women and the youth.
