Bayer, a German life science company, has launched its 'ForwardFarming' initiative in India, aimed at promoting sustainable agricultural practices. The 18-hectare farm in Panipat, Haryana, will demonstrate innovative farming techniques to support smallholder farmers. The initiative focuses on various modern farming practices including DSR, carbon farming, and IoT technology.

Bayer, a prominent German life science company, has rolled out a global initiative named 'ForwardFarming' in India to promote sustainable agricultural practices. Through collaborative efforts, innovation, and knowledge sharing, Bayer aims to help farmers achieve better productivity and sustainability.

The newly established 18-hectare Bayer ForwardFarm in Panipat, Haryana, serves as a demonstration site for innovative farming techniques tailored to the needs of India's smallholder farmers. The initiative focuses on Direct Seeded Rice (DSR), innovative weed management, customized agronomy systems, carbon farming practices, nutrition, water management, vermicompost, IoT, irrigation, and drone technology.

Natasha Santos, Head of Sustainability & Strategic Engagements at Bayer, emphasized the significance of India in global food security and expressed excitement about the initiative. She stated, 'By supporting and empowering local farmers, we aim to enhance agricultural productivity and sustainability, thereby increasing food security for all.' Ved Prakash Saini has been recognized as the first partner of the Bayer ForwardFarm network in India, which currently spans 14 countries with 29 farms.
